On Monday, November 1, 2010 Houston mayor Annise Parker signed an addendum to the sister cities agreement with Chiba City mayor Toshihito Kumagai. Walter Ulrich, CEO of the Houston Technology Center (HTC) also signed an agreement between Chiba City and HTC.
Houston and Chiba have been sister cities since 1972. The addendum to the agreement focuses on increasing economic development and encourages business exchanges between Houston and Chiba City. The Houston Technology Center also signed an agreement with Chiba City to exchange best practices and promote technology growth in both cities.
